This walk was taken in March 2025. It was the penultimate day of a 10-day hike from Chepstow, on the Welsh-English border, to Cheltenham. Artwork I had made in advance was in the Walking the Land’s Line(s) of Enquiry exhibition at the Hardwick Gallery, which opened on 7 March, and I was attending a Symposium at the University of Gloucestershire there (21st March 2025) at the end of the walk.

This is so interesting Tamsing. I know that area well and am sad to hear of the erosion taking place. There have also been some ridiculous building projects on the river Severn flood plain which I find incomprehensible. But having said all that it’s a beautiful part of the country. I love your embroideries and I’m very sorry to hear about your leg. As someone suffering from a knee injury (5 months) now which is hampering my walking you have my full sympathy. I hope it’s nothing that won’t get better soon. Best wishes. Liza
