Koppány Pines Nature Stays and Camping
I was invited to stay at this fantastic camp site by my friend Deby. Run with her husband, Mark, it is in a beautiful, rural part of the country, not far from Siófuk on Balaton Lake (less than an hour in the car, approximately 2-3 hours by public transport), and Budapest, the capital city (2 hours by car, 3-4 hours by bus).

There is a vintage caravan, a cottage/lodge, and space for tents (lots of fire pits), as well as camper vans with squeaky clean showers and toilet facilities. There is a charming outdoor eating area and Garden Tearoom with an infusion bar (all homemade), plus a pizza oven with meals using ingredients from their veg plot, with a swimming pool. I can personally vouch for the delicious breakfast and evening meal including yummy nettle soup. With access to a nearby lake (fishing) and foraging and other activities, it is as much for local people as visitors.
